• The Culinary Historians of Washington, DC. seek to promote a greater awareness of culinary history as a field of study. An ongoing project is CHoW's Culinary History Collection in the library of the Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. This is a noncirculating collection, open to all, of books and periodicals on food and food history.

• Volunteers from CHoW worked on setting up The Julia Child Kitchen at the Museum of American History (temporarily closed for renovation) Smithsonian Institution

• Volunteers staffed a tent at the Folklife Festival on the Mall in 2005 to discuss and demonstrate cooking gadgets.
